These earrings are a wonderful example of the archaeologic revival of the mid 1800's. Jewelers were inspired by all of the amazing discoveries of ancient cultures that were happening at the time. This pair of earrings have very fine micro mosaic pictures of a Pharaoh, which is set in an elaborate frame with graduated dangles looking like spears. They test for 15k gold, and date to the 1860's.
Details.....The earrings are 2.57" long(drop from ear) and .85" wide. The mosaics are in excellent condition and the metal shows light wear, I only lightly cleaned them as mosaics are delicate. You should expect some wear on antique and vintage jewels, we consider it part of their charm.
