This chain, it's an early 1800's box chain with keyhole cutouts, the clasp is original with a stippled design. The material is not gold but also shows no wear, so it is one of the pinchbeck like gold substitutes that were made in the very early 1800's. The carnelian claw was cut to show all of it's banding which makes it even more special. All this fabulous stuff was made by hand.
