Chinese jewels from the early 20th Century are wonderfully made and highly collectible. This handcrafted figural bracelet is a brilliant example, incredibly detailed and endlessly fascinating. Eight characters, each different, are rendered in carved and brightly painted bone. Scholars, courtiers, a musician, and a beautiful woman stand before a background of filigreed panels. The wide panels are wrought in silver over copper wire work. The bracelet secures with an integrated slide clasp. Circa 1920.
