Cultured Pearl in Sterling Tendril Artisan Ring
A glowing cultured pearl sits at the heart of this sterling silver artisan ring. Curling silver tendrils embrace the bright white pearl, holding it tenderly atop a gently fluted base. Cathedral shoulders and a sculpted band complete the elegant yet organic piece. Signed "925 Israel." Circa 1980.
Pearls were first cultured in 1893 by Mikimoto. Cultured pearls are created by adding an irritant, such as a grain of sand or small bead, to a pearl oyster to encourage it to cover the irritant in nacre, thereby creating a pearl.
Details.....Currently a size 9. The top of the ring measures 17mm by 16mm, and the band is 4mm wide. In Very Good Vintage condition. You should expect all vintage and antique jewels to show some wear; we consider it part of their charm.
