This luxurious looking, early Victorian bracelet is made of pinchbeck, the popular and affordable gold substitute of the era. Pinchbeck is a metal comprised of alloys with no gold content, yet it retains a high-carat gold color through the years. It provides a lot of glamour for a very reasonable price. The hinged bangle has a matte finish embellished with a highly polished Etruscan Revival detail. C. 1850s.
