This incredible Egyptian Revival scarab necklace makes a stunning statement. The centerpiece of the necklace is composed of five sterling silver scarabs of graduated size. Each scarab is sculpted in great detail, with stylized hieroglyphics and God figures such as Osiris with his crook and flail. Small sculpted oval plaques and bars of twisted silver form the rest of the necklace. The scarabs, plaques and bars are linked by sterling rings. The piece is finished with a lobster claw clasp. One of the plaques is stamped "Mexico 925" on the back. This piece is fascinating, so rich with detail...I think I may see a UFO on one of the scarabs. Circa 1960-1970.
Details.....The necklace measures 23" long. The largest scarab is 1.03" by 1.33" and the smallest is 0.96" by 0.72". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels.
