The crossover style of ring is also called the Toi et Moi, which means "you and me" in French. This particular ring is quite an unusual version of the style. Two bands of 14k rose and yellow gold nestle together. One is set with a 0.15ct sapphire and the other is set with a 0.15ct old mine cut diamond. Each of the gems are flanked by two rose cut diamonds. The omc and the sapphire are claw set and the rose cuts are set in tiny gold squares. The bands curve and mold together creating a single ring, the way love molds two spirits into one. The romantic symbolism of the Toi et Moi ring makes this a lovely choice for an engagement ring. Circa 1910.
