Hermes Agate Intaglio Fob

A beautiful dark agate, with a deeply defined intaglio, depicts Hermes in their classic Winged Helmet. A snake decorates this young gods throat, reminding us they are the only Greek god to freely traverse the realms of both life and death. The gold-filled bezel setting is embellished with two stylized staffs perhaps in deference to the magical staff of Caduceus. As versatile as Hermes, this stylish fob can be worn on a ribbon, a watch chain, or one of our Ancient Influences married chains. Circa 1880.

Details.....The fob measures 1.1" by 1.06". In Good Antique Condition. Imperfections are to be expected in antique jewelry; it is considered part of the charm.
