This lovely gold sheeted locket opens on both sides. The center frame of the locket holds a silver 6 pence that has been gold gilded. This 6 pence is likely the one the original owner of the locket had in her shoe at her wedding. Such a wonderful tradition, a 6 pence was put in the brides shoe as a way to wish her luck and prosperity in her marriage. I love tradition and romance. 9ct gold sheeted, circa 1860's.
Details.....The locket measures .93" across, and .39" thick. In Very good vintage condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
