It's such a rare treat to find a piece like this and in such nice condition.

This Bracelet has hand engraved vine and flower designs on rich yellow 15k gold. The front of the center plaque opens to reveal a locket with a Daguerreotype of a pretty young dark haired woman with a fichu scarf around her neck. Daguerreotypes were first introduced in 1839 and died out by 1860, these dates, as well as the style of the bracelet, put the date of this piece in the 1850s. The bracelet will comfortably fit a 5 3/4" to 6 1/2" wrist. The bracelet is in very nice condition without much wear to the gold or the black velvet. There are no gold fineness or hallmarks, this type of sentimental jewelry was usually made by the local Jeweler, and unmarked. It tests to be at least 15k gold and is beautifully handmade, even the safety chain appears to be original.
