This classic 19th Century gold filled slide chain has a curvaceous little slide set with a garnet and seed pearls. The garnet has an unusual tilde (~) shaped cut, three tiny seed pearls curl around it. Engraved detail accents the gems. A slide chain is a long, thin chain with a slide and a watch hook; the slide glides on the chain and stays where you put it. Slide chains were originally designed to hold a ladies watch and can still be used for this, but you can hang pendants, fobs, lockets, or whatever strikes your fancy from the hook. So versatile, this chain can be doubled for a shorter look or arranged as a swag. Circa 1870.

From the Married Chains Collection by Ancient Influences. All of the ingredients in this necklace are recycled and vintage. I love using vintage findings, and am thrilled by the discovery of just the right split ring or hook for a piece.

Details.....The chain is 46" long and the slide measures 8.4mm by 9mm.

Each item from this line of jewelry is unique and incorporates re-purposed vintage and antique pieces. Small imperfections are to be expected and considered part of their charm.
