This wonderful Victorian pendant brooch is an autumnal fantasy in rich tones of orange, green, and gold, with glowing pearls and diamond sparks. The 18k gold jewel is shaped as a foliate fan with a teardrop pendant. A large South Sea pearl, luminous white with rosé overtones, is the central gem. Radiant orange spessartine garnets and rich green emeralds encrust the lacy openwork gold, with exquisitely engraved gold leaves peaking through the stones. Creamy Akoya pearls accent the colorful gems, and tiny rose cut diamonds spangle the piece like an early frost. The pearls nestle in closed-back settings while the colored gems are open-backed for maximum light refraction. This piece is finished with a bale and pin, the original pin has been replaced with a 20th Century safety clasp. Circa 1850.

This brooch comes with an independent appraisal done by a Master Gemologist Appraiser. It has an insurance replacement value of $4500.
