Cameo Swivel Brooch with Receiving Locket

This early Victorian cameo is set in an elegantly engraved gold filled swivel frame. The cameo depicts a woman's face carved from shell. She is lovely, her hair is elaborately coiffed. The figure has the three dimensional quality you want in a high-quality antique cameo, and the cameo is in excellent condition. On the reverse of the cameo is a receiving locket with antique woven fabric preserved under the glass. The cameo/locket center swivels so you may display either side depending upon your meed. The secure safety clasp is a 20th century replacement. Circa 1850.

Description.....The brooch measures 2.46" by 2.15". In Good Antique Condition, the piece shows some wear to the metal. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels we consider it a part pf their charm.
