The last decade of the 19th Century brought symbolism and mysticism into every area of life as people contemplated the new century and what it might bring. This elegant late Victorian crescent moon is crafted of warm, slightly rosy 12k gold and set with a graduated curve of natural half pearls. The pearls are inset within the gold creating a sleek, sophisticated effect. Engraved detail embellishes each end of the crescent. This pendant is a conversion piece, it started its life as a brooch. Our metalsmith has converted the pin to a bale and added a jump ring, making it easy to wear this wonderful pendant any way you like. Circa 1890.
Details.....The crescent measures 1.7" long and graduates from 0.8mm to 2.6mm wide. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on antique and vintage jewels, we consider it part of their charm.
