This pendant is such a wonderful example of Art Deco at its height. Designed as a basket of flowers, the "flowers" are gems cut in cabochons and pyramids, set with marcasite covered leaves. There are blue chalcedony, green agate, carnelian, hematite, and onyx stones. This fantastical pendant is suspended from a long chain made up of marcasite set links. The chain is double sided with decoration and marcasites on both sides. Amazing quality, this necklace is incredibly unusual. This piece and the similar rare bracelet I listed came from the same NY estate.

In the 1920's and 1930's the finest sterling silver and marcasite jewels were made in Germany, where Theodore Fahrner made his jewelry. Signed on the clasp Germany & Sterling this beauty dates to 1920-30.

Details.....This pendant measures 2.60" long and 1.14" wide. The chain is 23" long and .16" wide. In excellent vintage condition. You should always expect some wear on antique and vintage jewelry, we consider it part of the charm.
