Pâte de verre is a form of art glass created by crushing glass and applying it to a mold. This technique allows for the creation of intricate and unique color patterns, it was particularly useful in giving glass the look of gem stones. Pâte de verre was quite expensive and popular in very early 20th Century jewels. This stunning strand of French beads has the look of stippled coral. They are hand knotted on coral silk. Circa 1920.

Details.....The necklace measures 40" long and the beads measure 11.1mm. In Excellent Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
