Every aspect of this ring is unusual and exciting, from the setting of boldly sculpted wire to the intense, moody glitter of the green spinel doublet. The Modernist design of the ring is curvaceous and architectural, like a brilliantly engineered suspension bridge. The faceted oval spinel has a deep green color; it nestles within a wirework ring, held in a many-pronged bezel. 14k yellow gold wire forms the substantial yet airy body of the ring, with gracefully arcing shoulders that taper into a chunky half round band. This dramatic ring reminds us of Dracula's incredible armor, designed by Eiko Ishioka for Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 film Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Circa 1960.

A doublet is a composite gemstone consisting of two pieces of the same or different gem materials, or one of gem material and a second of glass. The pieces are layered to improve the appearance of the gem. For example, in this case a thin slice of spinel is layered over a piece of green glass, improving the color of the spinel.

Details.....Currently a size 6.5. This ring can be sized up or down within two sizes free of charge. The top of the ring measures 15mm by 17.5mm and the band tapers from 10.5mm at the shoulder to 3mm at the back of the band. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
