This striking Mid Century panel bracelet echoes centuries of beautiful design. The openwork sterling silver panels are alternating rectangles of birds and curling leaves, inspired by a Georg Jensen pattern that was very popular in the 1940s. The Jensen pattern was informed by the important Art Nouveau movement of the late Victorian era, with its stylized natural forms. The Art Nouveau aesthetic was influenced by, amongst other things, the tapestries and illuminated manuscripts of Medieval art. A wonderful juxtaposition of the timeless and the specific. The panels are linked by oval rings, and the bracelet is finished with a slide clasp. Beautiful in so many ways. Circa 1950.

Details.....The bracelet is 7" long and 0.80" wide. In Very Good Vintage Condition. Small imperfections are to be expected and are considered part of the charm.
