Incredible Red Organic & Silver "Y" Necklace

An incredible red coral "Y" necklace with a fascinating organic texture and a nod to Modernist design. The links of the necklace are each composed of two pieces of coral, one craggy and unformed and the other a polished disc, set together in closed-back sterling silver bezels and accented with silver beads. The necklace is finished with a hook and eye clasp. The marriage of rough and refined textures, natural and industrial forms, recalls the Brutalist design movement of the 1970s. This coral is antique, it is the vivid red orange of fine 19th century coral. Circa 1960-70.
