George W. Sciebler & Co. was in business in New York from the late 1800s until its dissolution in 1910. While the mainstay of the company was the manufacture of silver flatware they also produced unique and fanciful silver jewelry. Beautifully crafted and well designed this jewelry is highly sought after.
Featuring the Greek word XAPIE on the front flanked by 2 facing Profiles, this brooch is a lovely example of their Homeric line. The rock hewn edges of the silver and the unique texture and patina are signature features of these pieces. This brooch also has a fringe of silver dangles.
This piece is signed on the reverse STERLING, the winged S and the design number 411.
The brooch measures 77mm in length and the dangles are 20mm long. It is in excellent Vintage Condition.
