Wonderful Mexican hoop earrings of inlaid sterling silver. They have seen a little action, the silver is slightly corroded in spots, but the craftsmanship of these artisan earrings is too fine to let that stand in the way. Shiny domed tops are linked to round sterling hoops. The hoops are inlaid with black enamel and turquoise in a Pre-Columbian design. These are comfortable and easy to wear post earrings. Stamped on the back "Mexico 925 Taxco" and with the maker's mark "TR-63". Circa 1970.

The city of Taxco is an important center for Mexican silver jewelry design. During World War II Taxco drew jewelry artists from all over the world. The main attraction for designers and studio jewelers was the abundant supply of locally mined materials, like silver and semi precious gems. Incredible silver jewelry is produced there to this day.

Details.....The earrings measure 1.70" long, and the hoops are 0.98" in diameter. In Good Vintage Condition, with some corrosion to the silver. You should expect some wear on all vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
