During the Art Deco era, Chinese design was all the rage in the West. Women adorned themselves in jewelry from China, and carved gemstones in traditional designs were very popular. This lovely brooch features a piece of rich red coral, delicately carved into a flower and leaf motif. The Chinoiserie carving is prong set, held on a sterling silver frame. Wonderfully naturalistic, and the coral is that unbelievable color we haven't seen since the 19th Century. Circa 1920.

Details.....The brooch measures 1.67" by .77". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
