A German Art Deco spider brooch with a marcasite-studded thorax and glossy moonstone abdomen. The spider is sensitively sculpted in sterling silver; his anatomy is very detailed, with creepy little palps and long segmented legs. The oval moonstone cabochon is prong set. The underside of his legs is marked "Germany" and "Sterling." Beautiful, if slightly unnerving, just the way we like it. Circa 1920.
Details.....The brooch measures 1.51" by 1.23". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on Vintage and Antique jewels; we consider it a part of their charm.
