This ring is quite charming. The 20th century conversion of an 18th century diamond button into a ring was done quite well. The circa 1790 Georgian silver and diamond cut back collet button is attached to 15k yellow gold ring that is just the right size and shape to support it nicely without being obtrusive. In the center of the top is a chunky old mine cut diamond weighing approximately .45 pts, which is surrounded by 8 rosecut diamonds. The diamonds are foiled and closed backed as was the fashion in the 18th century to get more sparkle in candle light.
