Gorgeous 18ct gold cannetille Maltese cross earrings. Cannetille is a style of metalwork that employs intricately coiled gold wire, where tiny wires are curled, piled, and twisted to form complex patterns accented with tiny gold balls. The top of each earring is a small Maltese cross on a French ear wire. A larger Maltese cross dangles below. Elaborate wirework is layered to create depth, yet the earrings remain flat, lightweight, and comfortable to wear. If you struggle with earrings getting lost in your dark hair (as I do), these are perfect for you. Circa 1860.
Details.....The earrings measure 1.25" by 0.70". In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; it is a part of their charm.
