Mikimoto Pearl & Gold Apple Earrings

Mid Century Mikimoto earrings featuring gold and pearls in abstract apple forms. White cultured pearls are set within 14k yellow gold rings, with jaunty "leaf" accents. Engraved detail adds glittering texture. These earrings are screw backs, easy to wear whether your ears are pierced or not. The screws bear the Mikimoto maker's mark. These charming earrings come in their original Mikimoto box, perfect for gifting. Circa 1950.

Pearls were first cultured in 1893 by Mikimoto. Cultured pearls are created by adding an irritant, such as a grain of sand or small bead, to a pearl oyster to encourage it to cover the irritant in nacre, thus creating a pearl.

Details.....The earrings measure 0.42" by 0.63", and the pearls are 6.2mm in diameter. The box measures 3.3" by 2.15". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should expect all vintage and antique jewels to show some wear; we consider it part of their charm.
