Wartime romance. This charming bracelet's links are tiny naval flags. Each sterling silver flag is enameled with a symbol that stands for a letter of the alphabet, spelling out a secret message. These bracelets were quite fashionable during World War II; they often bore generalized endearments, but this one is special as it spells out a personalized message: Addie John. A wee silver life preserver divides the names. So sweet, and the colorful, graphic designs of the maritime flags give the piece a fun, sporty feel. Circa 1940.
