Antique Coral Branch Brooch

During the mid 1800s it was popular to do a Grand Tour of Europe for your honeymoon and at each stop, a souvenir would be procured. This stunning specimen Natural Red Coral Branch would have been the treasure from a stop in Italy. Simply strapped in silver and fitted with a brooch pin to the back this gorgeous deep red  coral would have been proudly worn and prominently displayed, you can imagine how few people saw such wonders in the 1800's. I love having the opportunity to continue to treasure and respect the wonders of this planet. Circa 1860.

A wonderful way to be good to our planet and oceans is to make sure you only buy old coral. We carefully curate our jewelry selection to make sure all of our coral predates 1950.

Details...The brooch measures 2.67" x 1.65".  In Excellent Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
