A greyish steatite stone scarab is bead set on the stick pin. The Scarab has a group of hieroglyphs on the reverse, including the Falcon God Horus. The pin dates to the mid-20thc.
The scarabs are often older than the jewels they are set in. The scarab has special meaning in Egyptian lore, where it was believed that the beetle rolled the sun across the sky.
Details.....The scarab measures .62" x .45", including the frame. The pin measures 3.04" long. In Excellent Antique condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
