This unusual Victorian diamond solitaire has so many irresistible features. An elaborate buttercup setting proudly presents a fabulous rose-cut diamond. The antique diamond has a flat back and faceted top, with a unique faceting pattern and unrefined girdle. The diamond sits in an eight-prong head with a fluted, petal-like base. Delicate engraving enhances the elegantly tapered shoulders. The monogram "F.A.H." is engraved on the inside of one shoulder. This ring is a real charmer, a delightful solitaire that transcends the genre. Circa 1870.
Details.....Currently a size 6.5. The ring's head is 7.7mm in diameter, the top of the ring measures 7.8mm wide and tapers down to a 1.2mm band. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
