This magnificent ruby and diamond ring hails from the turn of the 20th Century. The 6.3ct oval cabochon ruby is the color of romantic love, deep and true. An entourage of 16 diamonds with a 1.10tcw frames the ruby in a dazzling halo. The diamond's bright sparkle is the perfect counterpoint to the ruby's glossy glow. Platinum prongs hold the gemstones atop an 18k gold gallery, and the piece finishes with a slender 14k gold shank. Such a treasure, this captivating ring will steal your heart away. Circa 1890.
This ring comes with an insurance replacement cost appraisal. The appraisal is done by an independent gem lab. The appraised value is $10,200.
Gem Details.....The oval cabochon cut natural ruby weighs 6.3cts, moderately to severely included, with a medium dark, moderately strong, strongly purplish red (stpR 6/4) color. The gem originates in Burma and shows no indication of heating. GIA report 2235431023. Fourteen old European cut diamonds have a .99tcw, with VS-SI clarity and H-I-J color. Two round brilliant cut diamonds have a .11tcw, with VS-SI clarity and H-I color. The total diamond weight is 1.10ct.
Details.....Currently, size 7, with sizing bumps. The top of the ring measures 12.7mm by 18.3mm, and the band is 1.2mm wide. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
