New with Tag Black & Gold Murano Beads from Vaccari

Decadent black and gold Murano glass lampwork beads from Antonio Vaccari. Two alternating types of Venetian beads, larger black beads with white and yellow swirls and smaller glittering gold beads, are strung on silk. Gold-tone bead caps and tiny gold glass beads separate the larger beads. The beads' depth of color and texture are marvelous. A handsome gold-tone clasp fastens the necklace. This glorious strand of beads is new with a tag; the tag reads "Antonio Vaccari" on one side and "Bigiotterie" on the other. Circa 1950.

The Vaccari family has used lampworking techniques to transform Murano glass canes into Venetian beads since the 19th Century. Augusto Vaccari and his son Antonio brought this traditional craft into the modern age, introducing their beads into France and England.

Details.....The necklace is 19" long, and the beads measure 10mm and 14mm in diameter. In Excellent Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
