Antique Pearl & Gold Filled Slide Chain

This 19th-century slide chain features a pearl-set slide on a long, gold-filled cable chain finished with a watch hook. The fancy slide has three little pearls inset vertically down the middle and scalloped edges. A slide chain is a long, thin chain with a slide and a watch hook; the slide glides on the chain and stays where you put it, and the hook holds charms and pendants and/or functions as a clasp. Slide chains were originally intended to hold a ladies' watch, but you can display whatever you wish from the hook. So versatile, this chain can be doubled for a shorter look or arranged as a swag. Circa 1870.

Details.....The chain is 46" long, the slide measures 5.8mm by 11.2mm, and the hook is 0.70" long. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
