Charming Antique Silver Gilt Cross with Pearls

A wonderful antique cross of silver gilt set with natural pearls and small red gems. Sold as found, it is likely an 18th Century French Provencial piece. Five little pearls are wired into raised gilt domes arranged in a cruciform pattern. Little square gems, possible garnet, sit in rays that extend between the arms of the cross. Ornate pierced metal work frames the cross, and its back is engraved with decorative lines and crosshatching. An integrated bale finishes the piece. This cross is beautiful, and exudes an undeniable Old World charm.

Details.....The cross measures 1.6" wide, 2.36" long and 0.33" thick. In Good Condition for its 200+ years of age. As found. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces, we consider it part of the charm.
