But what is a Billiken, you ask? Well, in the early 1900s, an American art teacher, Florence Pretz, dreamt up a doll that reached unexpected popularity. Thought to be good luck, the Billiken is an odd little creature. Currently, it is most well known as the mascot for Saint Louis University. Purchasing a Billiken is said to bring good luck, but gifting one is said to bring even more. This one is made entirely of 14k yellow gold and heavily hallmarked. Circa 1950s.
