A decadent black mabé pearl is the dark star of this gorgeous pendant. The iridescent pearl nestles within a sinuous frame of 14k yellow gold. The frame resembles a vine, with a little tendril caressing the pearl. The pendant hangs on a modern 14k gold rope chain. This delightful piece has the sensual, organic appeal of the Art Nouveau movement; however, it dates to the 1980s.
Mabé pearls, also known as blister pearls, are half-pearls cultivated on the inside of a mollusk's shell.
Details.....The chain is 16" long and the pendant measures 0.51" by 0.71". In Very Good Vintage Condition. Small imperfections and wear are to be expected in vintage and antique jewels, we consider it to be a part of their charm.
