Lush Pearl Necklace with Luxe Diamond Clasp

Behold, the luxury of the 1980s. This lush pearl choker has a gorgeous diamond-set clasp. The cultured pearls are luminous, with a merengue-like gloss. They are hand knotted on white silk. The chunky barrel clasp is an engraved cylinder of platinum and 18k yellow gold, set with a ring of sparkling diamonds. Wear the clasp in the front, it's the star of this top shelf necklace. Circa 1980.

Pearls were first cultured in 1893 by Mikimoto. Cultured pearls are created by adding an irritant, such as a grain of sand or small bead to a pearl oyster to encourage it to cover the irritant in nacre, thus creating a pearl.

Details....The necklace is 16" long. The pearls measure 8mm in diameter. The clasp measures 10.5mm by 7.3mm. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it a part of the charm.
