The turn of the 20th Century saw a leap forward with the introduction of platinum to jewelry design. The strength of platinum lent itself perfectly to new openwork designs, in which negative space is as important as cut work and engraving. All the fashionable ladies of the time wore this delicate and breathtaking jewelry. Edwardian era jewels are still one of the most coveted, and this magnificent pendant does not disappoint. Openwork platinum is spangled with a whopping 2.15 carats of delightful old mine cut, old European cut, and single cut diamonds. Exquisite engraving frosts the surface of the platinum, amplifying the sparkle. This superb piece hangs from a platinum cable chain. Circa 1910.
Details.....The chain is 17" long, and the pendant measures 0.41" by 0.75". In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
