Outstanding Camphor Glass & Diamond Filigree Necklace

This camphor glass necklace has everything ... a chain of exquisitely filigreed white gold links ... three hexagonal camphor glass accent links ... a large etched and frosted camphor glass pendant with a decorative bale, and a bright diamond set in its filigreed quatrefoil heart. Each plaque of sun-rayed glass is set in a frame of engraved 14k white gold and set with a wee diamond. Every detail is perfect; even the spring ring clasp is elevated with delicate engraving. Circa 1920.

Camphor glass was developed in the 1920s to be used in place of the more expensive rock crystal popular at the time. Camphor glass is made by treating clear glass with hydrofluoric acid vapors to achieve the signature frosted finish.

Details.....The necklace has a 16" wearable length with a 2.75" drop. The center pendant measures .88" by 1.52". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
