Sumptuous Architectural Revival Gold & Turquoise Swag Necklace

This 19th Century festoon necklace is incredible, sumptuous and romantic beyond words. A 22k gold double foxtail chain forms a choker, the chain is finished at the back with ornate Etruscan Revival barrel beads and clasp. Swags of finer foxtail chain drape from the choker. Persian turquoise cabochons of the most exquisite, saturated color are set in scalloped bezels that stud the choker and hang from the swags. Four naturalistic flowers grace the front of the choker; the gold blossoms are three dimensional, engraved with a glittering texture and finished with tiny stems. High carat gold and turquoise have been a revered combination since Antiquity, this is a delightful example of Victorian Architectural Revival design. Circa 1860.

Details.....The necklace measures 13.75" long. The center drop hangs 2" long. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of their charm.
