A Victorian slide chain, with a pearl-set slide and a swivel watch hook, on a bright, shiny gold-filled rope chain. The lozenge-shaped slide has beaded edges and four seed pearls set in tiny incised shapes. A slide chain is a long, thin chain with a slide and a watch hook. The slide glides on the chain and stays where you put it. The swiveling hook displays charms and/or functions as a clasp. So versatile, this chain can be doubled for a shorter look or arranged as a swag. Circa 1880.
Details.....The chain is 34" long, the slide measures .28" by .47", and the hook is 0.72" long. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
