Brilliant Mid-century black bead necklace with an aurora borealis finish. A strand of graduated black glass beads strung on silk with tiny clear glass spacer beads. The peacock-colored aurora borealis finish amplifies the beauty of the faceted round beads. This necklace fastens with a silver-tone bead clasp that is engraved and set with three tiny marcasites. Elegant, with just a hint of the Vamp. Circa 1960.

The iridescent aurora borealis finish was popular in the mid-20th Century. Named for the fabulous light display of the Northern Hemisphere's night sky.

Details.....The necklace is 16" long. The beads graduate from 5.8mm to 11.8mm. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it a part of their charm.
