A thrilling Art Deco era collar from the prominent German jewelry designer Theodor Fahrner. Elaborately worked sterling silver panels are embellished with wire and beadwork, then accented with glittering marcasites. The highly detailed metalwork reads as a paisley motif. The unique granulation and wirework are instantly recognizable as Fahrner's, with its stylized natural forms and moody oxidization. The back of a link is marked "Original Fahrner." Circa 1930.
Fahrner produced some of Europe's most exciting and innovative jewelry in the 20th Century. Theodor Fahrner was one of Germany's first jewelry manufacturers. He exhibited at the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris, winning the Silver Medal for Jewelry. After Fahrner died in 1919, Gustav Braendle succeeded him and retained the "Fahrner-Jewelry" brand name.
Details.....The collar is 15" long, and the links measure 1.31" by .64". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
