Fanciful Filigree Diamond & Sapphire in White Gold Necklace

Something about the design of this Art Deco pendant reminds me of a satyr, with his horns, curling ears, pointed beard, and a wreath of flowers on his head. Maybe it's just me. The elaborate little pendant is crafted in 14k white gold, pierced with spirals, and engraved with flowers. A .20ct old mine cut diamond is center set in an octagonal bezel. That part feels more like a Cyclops like Polyphemus and Pan had a love child. A marquise-cut synthetic sapphire is set beneath the diamond, like a little goatee. This piece is a conversion jewel made from a vintage stick pin. It hangs on a double bale from a fine gauge modern 14k white gold rope chain. Circa 1920.

Details.....The chain is 18" long, and the pendant measures .43" by .61" with bale. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
