Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Statement Ring with Modernist Style

A stunning turquoise and sterling silver statement ring that marries tradition with a Modernist design sensibility. Brilliant Sleeping Beauty turquoise is cut, polished, and fit together to form an elongated rectangle, inset in a subtly convex sterling panel. Deep grooves run parallel to the turquoise inlay, with perpendicular slashes that curl around the panel's sides. The panel sits atop a very wide band that curves dramatically around the finger in the Modernist style. The ring is dramatic in size and breathtaking in color, with clean, elegant lines. Signed by the artist "S. Jenkins." This gorgeous ring is a larger size and not easy to find. Circa 1970.

The Sleeping Beauty turquoise mine was one of the largest in America. Its turquoise is noted for its solid, light blue color with minimal matrix, making it a favorite of Zuni Pueblo lapidaries and silversmiths.
