Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Cuff by J. Piaso Jr.

This gorgeous Navajo Sleeping Beauty turquoise cuff bracelet is rich with fine details. Three graduated turquoise nuggets are set in raised bezels across the top of the sterling silver cuff. The cuff is quite wide with scalloped edges. Twisted silver wire frames the bezels, beads sit in the stones' interstices, and applied silver "petals" flank the stones. Stamped rocker designs heavily encrust the bracelet's surface. The interior of the cuff is signed by Navajo artist Joe Piaso Jr. Circa 1980.

The Sleeping Beauty turquoise mine was one of the largest in America. Its turquoise is noted for its solid, light blue color with minimal matrix, making it a favorite of Zuni Pueblo lapidaries and silversmiths.

Details.....The cuff measures 2.25" across the interior. The exterior of the bracelet measures 2.34" by 1.37". The piece weighs 2.76 ounces. In Very Good Vintage Condition. All vintage items will show some wear; it is considered part of their charm.
