A heavy vintage sterling silver pendant featuring Pope Pius XI on one side and the Vatican on the other. Very rich in detail. A heavy sterling silver jump ring has been added to the bale for ease of wear. This Pope was the first Sovereign of Vatican City upon its creation as an independent state in 1929. This medal dates from the 1930s-40s
