Kalo Brooch with Amethyst

This beautiful Kalo "puffy" brooch is marked style #108. Very interesting. Hand wrought sterling silver has been worked using repoussé techniques into the shape of curling ivy leaves. The leaves have been engraved with lines and veins. The details are lovely. An oval buff top amethyst has been bezel set in the center of the brooch. A wonderful piece, and quite collectable. Circa 1920.

Kalo jewelry was well known for making "puffy" pins: slightly convex or "puffed out" saw-pierced forms of chased and repoussé cherries, flowers, pineapples, or arrangements of leaves and vines.

Details.....The brooch measures 1.58" by 2.12". It weighs 15.2 grams. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces, we consider it part of the charm.
