This edgy sterling silver bracelet from Emma Melendez is the epitome of Rock & Roll elegance. Ten domes are soldered to one edge of a heavy curb chain, all in a row. Each dome is engraved with a circular groove. The substantial slide clasp reads like the panel on an I.D. bracelet. The supple chain curves comfortably around the wrist. The back of the clasp is signed "Emma" and marked "Sterling," "Taxco," and stamped with Mexico's Eagle 3 for sterling silver. This bold bracelet will make a statement worn with anything from jeans and a t-shirt to your favorite little black dress. Circa 1960.

The city of Taxco is an important center for Mexican silver jewelry design. During the 1940s, Taxco drew jewelry artists from all over the world. The main attraction for designers and studio jewelers was the abundance of locally mined materials like silver and semi-precious gems. Emma Melendez opened her Taxco taller in 1953, which she operated until 1971.

Details.....The bracelet measures 7.75" long and 0.80" wide. It weighs 1.74 ounces. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
