This fabulous funky, chunky celluloid bangle bracelet has that bold Art Moderne sophistication. The celluloid is patterned as faux tortoise shell, but it may also read like a fun cheetah or ocelot print. The bracelet is flat, thick and heavy. It makes a strong stand-alone statement, and it will take your bangle stack to the next level. Circa 1940.

Celluloid, invented in the 1860s, is the first synthetic plastic. It was used for many purposes, including the production of jewelry and other decorative accessories. Celluloid objects are now highly collectable.
